Requirements for Veterinary Assistant are: must be compassionate toward animals and able to lift 40 lbs, be team oriented with good people skills, able to multitask and be a self starter. Applicant must go through a background check. Duties include assisting veterinarians and other staff members with care of animals which includes client/patient traffic control, exam room set-up and clean-up, ward room prep and cleanup, pre and post surgical patient care, moniter anesthesia and fluid administration, charting, telephone, reception and basic computer skills.
